I often find myself reaching for a new book, even if I’m currently in the middle of one. I know, it’s not a good habit! However, we all have bad habits and mine happens to be reading too many books at one time! I don’t know about you, but I’ll read almost any book if it has an intriguing and colorful cover. The phrase ‘don’t judge a book by it’s cover’ lives true to me, except when I’m referring to books. Another good thing to know is that I’m a sucker for books that have benefits for you. For example, books that have an essence of self-help and help me live my best life.
My most recent read was not only a book but a handbook and step-by-step guide, all in one! I was originally drawn to it because of the beautiful cover art that was featured. Oh yes, I judged a book its cover, you heard that right! The large word ‘happiness’ also drew my attention. I love expanding my horizons on the topic because who doesn’t love being happy? I started this book with high expectations and they were exceeded.
I started this book with intentions of reading one day of inspiration per day. But I ended up reading more than a few days, all at once. I wanted to absorb the happy energy she was writing about every day. Using her tips, I tried to live each day to the fullest as it details in the step-by-step guild. I try to focus on one day per day and think about her words throughout the day. Using each statement as my mantra for the day reminds me to stay positive and remember the goal at hand- happiness.
Each day Jacqueline puts a different twist on happiness and how you can apply it to your life. For example, Day 20 highlights the importance of shaking up your daily routine which allows you to expand your horizons. Which hand-in-hand gives you more opportunities. This book is well-crafted and well thought out. Every day there is new food for your thoughts just waiting to be taken in. 365 Days of Happiness by Jacqueline Pirtle is a lovely step-by-step guild that outlines numerous ways to increase your happiness level. With the new year coming just around the corner, this book would most definitely be an aid in the upcoming year!
(I was sent this book, however all opinions are my own.)
